Richard Stewart moved from New Zealand to live in America in December 6th, 1990. His last job in New Zealand was as a young community college lecturer who taught marketing and management.

Despite having no experience in financial services in 1991 he took a job with a Manufactured home finance company and he has been writing loans ever since. He formed his company Western Finance, inc in 1995 which generated loans in 42 states up until 2010. Several years ago he changed gears and decided to concentrate all his energies on reverse mortgages. Consequently today 100% of his loans are reverse mortgages and he refers to himself as a full-time myth buster.  In his career, either directly or through originators working for him, Richard has originated and funded over 12,000 loans and counting…

Richard is married to Maureen who he met in Australia, followed her back to America, and never left. 32 years later they have raised a family in Littleton, Colorado.

Maureen is a professor at NVU having received her doctorate at the University of Colorado and now holds an EdD Leadership in Educational Equity.  Maureen and Richard are now referred to as Dr and Mr Stewart...!   His oldest child Max (30) graduated from DePaul University in 2016 with a BFA in Acting and is a working actor in Chicago, Maggie (27) graduated from Eckerd College with BA in International Business and a minor in French and lives in Manhatten working in social media marketing, Charles just completed his degree at Lawrence University, Appleton WI, where he also played NCAA hockey for the school.  He lives in Washington, DC working as an Economic Analyst for Capital One.
